Googlegangers

Many people have experienced the odd sensation of finding someone else with your name doing stuff on the Web, or in the world and glimpsed via the Web.  Nominal doppelgangers, they can be playful (look what “I“‘m doing!), spooky, or irrelevant.  

Here’s a neat term for the phenomenon, from comments on John Crowley’s blog: Googleganger.
