30 days of summer break doctor who- day 22- what is your fave who related video on youtube:

Babelcolour trailer: the beginning. If any fan is wondering whether to start at the beginning than this trailer of the beginning’s box set is a good thing to watch, its epic and brilliant and carefully shows u the best of the first ever story, the first ever dalek story and the first ever story to explore the TARDIS being ‘alive’. We’ve seen these eps so many times but now have urge to re-watch as this vid of where Doctor who began sends chills down your spine…please watch and enjoy.

For me, this is the quintessential picture of the Doctor. Just the Boy and his Box, off to see the universe. Because really, that’s the best thing there is.

30 Days of Summer Break Doctor Who - Day 18: Mods are asleep! Anything goes!

serenbex:

I love River. And Donna.

And I’m waiting for that stupid man in his stupid blue box to come and get me. I’ll never give up!

Day 18:  Mods are asleep!  Anything goes!

I want to see an episode where The Doctor and company end up in Heian era Japan, where they meet Murasaki Shikibu (and save her from aliens, of course).  The Doctor fanboys over meeting Earth’s first novelist, but she hasn’t begun writing yet.  Lady Murasaki is interested by the dynamic between The Doctor and all three of the Ponds.  When she finds out that The Doctor met both Amy and River as little girls, this inspires part of “The Tale of Genji”.

Basically I just really want a Doctor Who story set somewhere in Asia, okay?

Day 16: What’s your favorite Who-related Tumblr (other than DWO)?

There are a lot, but my top two are also the first two tumblrs I viewed regularly and the ones that eventually convinced me to get my own account: adoctorworld and thisisgallifrey; for this they hold a special place in my tumblr-heart. Plus they’re awesome; ADW is funny, deep, and beautiful all at once, while thisisgallifrey is my #1 source for Tennant, Simm, and Tensimms spam.

Other DW tumblrs I love include:

Day 15: Would you prefer to have River’s Sonic Blaster or the Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver?

Well, I’ve pretty much already answered that question because…

I already have the screwdriver! I mean, it’s just so useful.

It fixes my computer when it’s running slowly.

It opens that door I lost the key to.

Shelves to put up? No problem.

It opens this stuck door…wait…it doesn’t do wood. Damn it.

It’s ok sonic screwdriver. I still love you.

Definitely the Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver because well…I already have one :)

Would you prefer to have River’s sonic blaster or the Doctor’s sonic screwdriver?

As much as I like the sonic… hand over the blaster, River.

I’m really not one for violence, but somehow I feel like the blaster would come in handy just as often (if not more) than the sonic screwdriver. Think about it- you sonic a lock, I cut a hole in the wall. And then put the wall back. You threaten (with no intent to use) with a screwdriver, I threaten (with no intent to use) with a blaster. We’ve seen about how well that worked out when fighting the Silence, remember?

I know the sonic is handy for fixing things and playing with circuitry, but let’s face it: if I’m traveling through time and space running from deadly aliens who want to kill me, I’d want a weapon. Though, if River’s future sonic was an option it might win out. Maybe. In the end it’s just flashier, I guess, and I’m always one for theatrics, especially when it involves blasting holes in things or making dramatic exits in any way. Oh, goodness, I sound like Ace now…

Bottom line:

“You’ve got a screwdriver, go build a cabinet!”

Space Hamsters: Day 12: Name a Doctor Who TV crossover that you would love to see...

Doctor Who/Land of the Lost (70s show)

Many of you might be wondering “What in the world is Land of the Lost?” Well, it was a sci-fi kids show that aired in the 1970s! Just like another show I’ve grown so fond of. *cough*doctor who*cough*.  This show occurs in a parallel universe just like that Doctor Who show also does! This show is filled with objects from other worlds, including aliens and dinosaurs.

Oh, and did I mention that in the Land of the Lost there are these ‘living machines’ called Pylons:

that are bigger on the inside then they are on the outside? Don’t take my word for it, see what they actually say in the show:

I think i’ve seen this line before somewhere….

OH.

AND, there are these lizard like people called the Sleestak who attack our protagonists, that are oodly similar to the Silurians.

Needless to say the TARDIS landing in the Land of Lost would add many exciting adventures for the Doctor and his companions.  And maybe the Doctor could ride around on a dinosuar!

Day 11: What actor would you love to see guest star on Doctor Who?

I know that there’s been a lot of common casting between the two already, so I really think that it’s necessary for the entire Harry Potter cast to show up over time (even the people who played minor characters and extras).  You know, to complete the set. We’ve never met Amy’s aunt, right? I think Maggie Smith would be awesome as the aunt who sent Amy to four psychiatrists and disapproves of her kissogram job. The others could show up in random roles that are totally against type (wouldn’t it be great to see Alan Rickman as a mild mannered civil servant?).

I also think that they’d all get along really well since both casts seem prone to impromptu dance parties.

Day 11: What actor would you love to see guest star on Doctor Who?

More than anything, I want to see Andrew Lee Potts as the Doctor. I think he has the right amount of quirky madness to pull off the part, but he’s also a phenomenal actor, and I have no doubt that he can capture the darker aspects of the Doctor as well.

And of course, if he ever does end up playing the Doctor, Hannah Spearritt simply has to be his companion/lover. There’s no other option, really. She could be the perfect straight man to his all-over-the-place Doctor. Or, if she can only star in an episode, I picture her as a kick-ass chick from a distopian future.

(Most of the gifs are from the-hanging-tree.)

30 Days of Doctor Who: Day 11 - What actor would you love to see guest star on Doctor Who?

Aidan Turner. Why? Not only is he freaking awesome, he’s  the only member of Being Human yet to be on Doctor Who.

Sure he’ll be gone for The Hobbit. But it can happen.

Day 01: Which regeneration of The Doctor would you most like to meet and why?

For being the hyperactive good-time accessory-horse that he is, I would most like to meet Eleven. Mostly to twang his braces and ruffle his hair. Twang.
