Last week we asked what you would do if you had your own sonic screwdriver and got a ton of responses (most popular being “make it do wood” and “mildly torture my family by pranking them”). We sonic’d the #If I Had A Sonic hashtag and randomly drew 10 winners to get a free download of the app on iOS.

BBC has launched their official Sonic Screwdriver iPhone app.

A super cool new official Sonic Screwdriver app is available now in the Apple App Store.

Featuring four detailed 3D models of Sonic Screwdrivers, belonging to the ThirdFourth,TenthandEleventhDoctors, each with their own unique features and authentic sounds from the show.

It also has two background options - a deep space starfield for when you want to explore the cosmos, and an augmented reality experience utilising your phone’s camera, for when you want to operate your sonic in the real world. The app also controls your phone’s flash making it the coolest flashlight app in the galaxy.

Now we’re never without a Sonic Screwdriver.

doctorwhoproblems:

Couldn’t fall asleep last night so I played a little bit of the Doctor Who: The Mazes of Time app on my phone.

So, yeah, that didn’t help the insomnia much.

MOFFAT!
