BBC America’s BROADCHURCH, which earned critical acclaim and broke records on Twitter in the UK, centers on the investigation into the murder of a young boy in a British seaside town.
Leading the investigation are two detectives — the strong yet compassionate local Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller (OLIVIA COLMAN, Twenty Twelve, The Iron Lady), and the by-the-book Detective Inspector Alec Hardy (DAVID TENNANT, Doctor Who, Spies of Warsaw), Ellie’s newly appointed boss.
By circumstance they are partnered to solve the murder, keeping the newspapers from derailing the investigation and trying to prevent the crime from impacting tourism at the beach where the boy was murdered.Don’t miss Doctor Who’s DAVID TENNANT & ARTHUR DARVILL in critically-acclaimed new drama BROADCHURCH Premiering Wednesday Aug 7 at 10pm/9c on BBC America.

Steven Moffat is returning for another Doctor Who season, the BBC officially confirmed today. The current series finale aired ahead of a 50th anniversary special slated for November 23 starring Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman, David Tennant, Billie Piper, and John Hurt. Moffat “is already plotting a brand new run of adventures for the Doctor,” the network announced on their blog. Brian Minchin will executive produce alongside Moffat.

This is it! The episode we’ve all been waiting for and our last Saturday livetumblring announcement of the season. It seems so soon and yet we’ve been through so much (and we’re only speaking of the past week!)

In less than 10 minutes, the UK will see the season finale of Doctor Who Series 7: The Name of the Doctor.
Six hours later, the US and Canada will have their debut and then Australia about 10 hours after that.
(See the full worldwide schedule here.)
We will be livetumblring tonight’s 8pm ET BBC America Premiere of The Name of the Doctor.

We’ll be online from 8/7c until the end of the broadcast reblogging your gifs and fan art and reactions as we find them on the tags ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘The Name of the Doctor.’

If you haven’t been here for a livetumblring before, it’s where we blog moments from the episode just as they’re happening on the broadcast.

And we’re sorry. We’re so sorry but because we’re livetumblring in real time — there is no way for us to avoid posting spoilers.

If you’re going to be liveposting any of these broadcasts be sure to let your followers know (and tag your posts as spoilers!)

We’ll be using the tags ‘spoilers’ ‘dw spoilers’ and ‘The Name of the Doctor’. If you can’t watch the episode until later this weekend, you can avoid spoilers by installing Tumblr Savior for your browser. Trust us: you’ll be happy you did.

If you’re using the Tumblr mobile app or if the Tumblr Savior stuff is too much to deal with, consider unfollowing us and then refollowing us after you watch the episode.

After Doctor Who, there will be a new episode of Orphan Black on BBC America and Space Channel at 9p EDT, and at 10p on BBC America, it’s a new episode of The Nerdist.
If all goes well, if all goes according to plan, we’ll have something special to post after the broadcast aside from the behind the scenes videos and storyboards and production galleries…
… and of course, we’re talking about the new clip featuring the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors!!!!!!!

In the meantime, it’s Doctor Who Day which means that we’re reblogging your Season Finale setup pics from the Doctor Who Day tag. What are you wearing? What are you eating? Who are you with? We want to know.

There’s still also time for you to get your autograph in for our wall at the Doctor Who Tumblr office at BBC America... Make us a fan sign, some fan art, a selfie with your Tumblr url. Post it to your blog. Submit it through this form. We’re collecting all of them to make a poster out of it for everyone to see whenever they come through the New York office of BBC America — Doctor Who cast, crew, writers, the BBC America staff, and us. You are special and amazing and we want people to know this.

So that’s it! Today is a big day. Message us if you have questions. In the meantime, we’re going to get going!

After the episode, stay tuned for a new episode of Orphan Black on BBC America and Space Channel at 9p EDT. Tatiana Maslany is kind of amazing in it. We’re kind of obsessed with her. So is Emma Roberts.

And at 10p on BBC America, it’s Space Week on The Nerdist so Chris Hardwick’s guests include astronaut Buzz Aldrin(!) and cute Mars Rover Mohawk guy NASA Systems Engineer Bobak Ferdowsi(!).

Meanwhile, we will be posting behind the scenes clips and production galleries of today’s show along with the prequel to next week’s season finale, The Name of The Doctor.
