Matt Smith has stepped out of his time-travelling comfort zone for an entirely different vehicle to his Tardis for a new drama for the BBC.
The actor was snapped on the River Thames this weekend in a white vest and shorts sitting in a racing boat.
Matt, 28, is playing Bert Bushnell, one half of the rowing team that won the gold medal in the 1948 Olympics in London for the double scull.
The drama tells the story of their relationship and how the two men from different backgrounds overcame their class differences to claim victory on the water.
