A few weeks ago we announced that BBC America would be displaying Doctor Who fanart at the BBCA booth at San Diego Comic Con. We received an outstanding number of awesome submissions from Whovian artists and featured some on BBC America’s video cube! Which looked something like this:
(Actually it looked exactly like this)
Here’s a slideshow of all the Doctor Who fan art that was chosen to be featured. Unfortunately the music needed to be removed from the video, but maybe if we all sing doo-wee-ooo~ at the same time we’ll all be able to hear it!
Hello, Doctor Who Tumblr here. We recently made a post about how excited we are to have Whovian fan art and videos featured at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2014. We received a lot of questions over the weekend and thought we’d address some of them here:
BBC America is accepting fan art and videos from anywhere in all of space and time, feel free to submit no matter what country (or planet, or dimension) you’re from.
The maximum video dimensions are 1920 x 1080. As far as length goes, longer video submissions should be cut down to 30-seconds or less. The video wall is silent so it’s fine for videos to have any sort of music in them but unfortunately we won’t be able to hear it (we’ll look up at the screen and sing “doo-wee-oooo” to make up for that.)
BBC America is looking to specifically feature the Twelfth Doctor and Clara at the convention in celebration of the new Series. Video pieces or photos featuring DW cosplayers dressed as them are very welcome.
The video wall is a featured part of the BBC America booth and is quite visible on the con floor. It highlights content from BBC America shows as well as information about related events at the convention.
Yes – at previous events submitting artists have been identified with their Tumblr usernames.
That’s all for now. Still have a question? Our inbox is always open, feel free to send us an ask, and don’t forget that the deadline for submissions is June 16th at 12PM ET.

Matt Smith talks to Access Hollywood at San Diego Comic-Con 2013
When asked who she’d want to play out of any characters on the show, Jenna replied that she’d like to play Straxx.
Moffat replied “you’re not tall enough”.

by the way, we’re still trying to figure out who this person was. They showed up to both the meetup and the panel and they were awesome.
Cyberman #omg #sdcc #50thanniversary #tumblrmeetup #doctorwho #bbcamericaThis is me pretending to not be afraid. It was a legit Cyberman. I accidentally bumped the arm and almost screamed. I was hesitant and didn’t really know if I should smile or try not to cry. This is my trying not to cry and smile face. Bad quality, but there was really only one go at this since I was, y’know, scared.
Something we meant to blog the other day.

We complained about not being there
FYI: we’re posting everything we can either as soon as we find it or as soon as it becomes available.
We’re sitting in a hotel room in an emptied-out downtown San Diego formatting and posting about Doctor Who-related events at SDCC including the panels, the press interviews, and your interactions with the cast, the creators, and each other.
We hope that every Whovian who didn’t attend can still get a sense of everything Who-related that happened at SDCC…
… and we thank everyone who did attend for posting their Whovian experiences for us to reblog and share with others.
Ok. Gotta go feed the queue.
