Yes! BBC America will be hosting a fan screening of episode 8 ‘Mummy on The Orient Express’ Saturday October 11th from 8:15 PM - 9:15 PM, Empire Stage 1-E. Here’s some more info:

BBC America presents its first ever Doctor Who Fan screening at New York Comic Con with the new episode “Mummy On The Orient Express.” The episode, written by Jamie Mathieson (Being Human, Dirk Gently) and directed by Emmy-winning Director Paul Wilmshurst, will be shown to Fans at NYCC ahead of its premiere on BBC America.

The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) are on the most beautiful train in history speeding among the stars of the future. But a deadly creature is stalking the passengers. Once you see the horrifying Mummy you only have 66 seconds to live. No exceptions, no reprieve.

As the Doctor races against the clock Clara sees him at his deadliest and most ruthless. Will he work out how to defeat the Mummy? Start the clock!

Guest Stars in the episode include Frank Skinner, Foxes and David Bamber.

We’d also like to mention that Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams) will be doing autograph signings on Thursday (today!), Friday & Saturday, and that Alex Kingston (River Song) will be doing signings Saturday and Sunday. For the full schedule of signings please check out New York Comic Con’s page here.

Alsoalso, be on the lookout for a little adipose running around the con floor, because we’ll be on the hunt for Doctor Who cosplayers to post to the blog. If you’re at New York Comic Con this weekend and come across some amazing Doctor Who cosplay, be sure to tag your uploads with #DWNYCC. We’ll be reblogging stuff from the tag all weekend!

We spend lots of our time at the BBC Worldwide offices. They have cupboards full of tea, good wifi and lots of comfy places to sit. image

We especially like to sit near the BBC America TARDIS. Factoid: it’s the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith's original TARDIS. ( ゚o゚)imageHere we are hanging out with our friend, Herb Scannell, President, BBC Worldwide America. nbd.

Yep. We’re here everyday checking the tags, reading your asks & hoping you feel better when you aren’t feeling very well - we hope you do.

Our reply to your second ask is coming up. Click here for part 2 of 2.

Sorry to bother you, but I have a question about the Fathom Events midnight screening... when I go through the Fandango page, it says that the screening is at 12:01 AM on August 23rd (which would be considered Friday night) - but all of the information (both on your tumblr & their graphic) says that it's on Saturday night (aka. technically on Aug. 24th). So, are the midnight screenings the morning before or the same night as the season premiere? (I hope that made sense!) Thank you!

Hello fellow Whovian! For midnight screenings, Fandango and other ticketing websites will often format their date and times in this way which we understand might be very confusing.

The midnight screening will technically be on August 24th at 12:01 AM, which is the same night as the season premiere and just a few hours later. We hope this clears things up!

With a show that’s been around for over 50 years, there’s a LOT to be said about Doctor Who…literally. The Doctor talks a lot, and sometimes we just can’t get him to stop.

image

Our friends at Harper Collins have given us some copies of a new book called The Official Quotable Doctor Who: Wise Words from Across Space and Time, in which a few Whovians (who must also be very good listeners) went back through all fifty years of Doctor Who and picked some of the best quotes from The Doctor and all of his friends (and enemies.)

image

*We do not suggest using this book as an actual weapon please do not hit people with it

We’re going to give away 8 copies of the book to some lucky Whovians! All you have to do to enter is take your favorite Doctor Who quote and interpret it in whichever way you want (you can also just buy the book here).

You can make gifs of your favorite moment, use your artistic skills to insert a quote into a #DWedit or a piece of fanart, take a picture of yourself cosplaying a character from the show saying your favorite line, or even just make a text post quoting a line you relate to the most. Really, you can do anything you like!

Make a post using the hashtag #Quotable Doctor Who to be sure you’re entered. We’ll gather all of the entries by Monday, May 19th at 12PM EST, and randomly select the 8 lucky winners.

And we’re so so sorry to people outside of the Fifty States, but this giveaway is only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including the District of Columbia.)

In case you missed it, we’re having a contest!

Accepting our award for Best Brand on Tumblr at the Shorty Awards HQ with CEO Greg Galant. We did it, Whovians!

The great thing about being an Adipose is that since there’s so many of us, we always have someone to play games with. This week we got our stubby hands on the Doctor Who version of RISK.

This Doctor Who version of Risk: The Dalek Invasion of Earth, is set on Earth…early 21st century. The planet has faced many invasions in the past, but never has mankind faced an assault like this, as multiple Dalek armies descend from the skies, seeking to destroy one another and conquer the world.

Play as one of 5 different armies, with Classic or New Dalek Paradigm, as you invade earth.

As you fight for supremacy, the Doctor will do his best to stop you, bringing peace to a different territory each turn, and if your army is not victorious by the time he reaches his eleventh incarnation on the board’s special Regeneration Strip, then the battle is over and all Daleks must retreat as the Oncomimg Storm saves the Earth.

With special power cards to boost your forces or thwart other armies, and special missions to defeat other invading forces, this game of Risk is an epic battle for control of the planet Earth…and the universe.

Now with this game we can finally live out our fantasies of world-domination (sorry, it’s in our nature, we’ll be good though.)

If you preordered the game then you’ll be getting it soon, otherwise you can get yours here.
