No Matter -Who-
Sketches of Ten, Ten and Rose, Eleven, and Eleven and Rose (I’m in love with the very idea of Eleven and Rose!) :D The two larger sketches are WIPS for a double-panel pencil/watercolor project I’ve been meaning to draw for several months now. I have no time to finish it now (bills are due like crazy), though I would dearly love to—someone please commission me to finish these if you like?? ^__^;;
And now…back to working on commissions, and normal things like eating and sleeping and occasionally venturing outside my door again. Maybe.
WE ARE THE SUPERIOR STITCHERS!!

Ever since the release of these amazing Dalek cups:
And ever since renewedasanotherseabird made her Doctor Who “Tumbler” discovery:

… we, the adipose of the Doctor Who Tumblr, have had a dream to create THE GREATEST TITLE FOR A TUMBLR CONTEST IN ALL OF TIME AND SPACE.

Today we get to realize our dream with…
The Doctor Who Tumblr Tumbler Tumblr Contest.
We’ve been given a dozen Doctor Who Dalek and TARDIS cups to give away courtesy of the fine folks at BBCAmericaShop.
We want you to make your own homemade Dalek and TARDIS fan art. Make it using household items, drawing and painting, arts and crafts, whatever. In exchange, we’re going to reblog our favs and give away Doctor Who tumblers to users on Tumblr via the Doctor Who Tumblr.
This, we believe, will be the crowning title-related achievement of this blog.
Let us explain via this exciting powerpoint presentation:

So enough about the title. Here’s what to do:
1. Make your own Dalek or TARDIS. It can be physical or digital. Just be creative. And have fun.
2. Post it to your blog using the tag #Doctor Who Tumblr Tumbler Tumblr.
3. We will pick twelve (12) entries at random to receive a TARDIS or Dalek tumbler courtesy BBCAmericaShop.
Because of reasons beyond our control, the contest portion is only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States including the District of Columbia. Read all of the official terms and conditions here.
However, like all of our “contests”, the best part is browsing the tag and seeing everybody else’s work. Anybody and everybody can make their own Dalek or TARDIS for the tag as we’ll be reblogging some of our favorites no matter where they’re made.
It all starts today, now, Saturday, June 1. You have until next Saturday, June 8 at midnight Pacific Time to post your entry.
WE’RE SO EXCITED TO SEE YOUR ENTRIES!!!

When I was a kid, I used to run home from school to watch my favorite TV shows. One of them, was this British television program that ran on WTTW, (the PBS station in Chicago). It was a quirky science fiction show about a time traveller called the Doctor. He and his companions whisked around space and time in a blue phone booth looking thing called a Police Box.
The year was 1980. The show was called Doctor Who, and I, was hooked.
The Doctor at that time was played by an actor named Tom Baker, who wore a ridiculously long scarf. I decided I needed a long scarf too. I wrote a letter to some long forgotten address I obtained, and received a knitting pattern for the scarf. I somehow talked my grandmother into making one for me. It was awesome. Even though I was ridiculed mercilessly by my peers for wearing it, my love for the 4th Doctor and his adventures never diminished.
Well, it just so happens that 2013 is the 50th year anniversary of Doctor Who. It’s the longest running science fiction television series in the world.
This is my homage to those days from my youth. Days that were filled with countless hours spent watching Doctor Who and pretending that I too, could travel in space and time.
