BBC Worldwide is currently investigating a security issue around Doctor Who Series 8 where unfinished material has inadvertently been made public. We deeply regret this and apologise to all the show’s fans, the BBC and the cast and crew who have worked tirelessly making the series. We would like to make a plea to anyone who might have any of this material and spoilers associated with it not to share it with a wider audience so that everyone can enjoy the show as it should be seen on 23rd August. We know only too well that Doctor Who fans are the best in the world and we thank them for their help with this and their continued loyalty.
Michelle Gomez (Bad Education, The Green Wing) will join the cast of Doctor Who playing the Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere when the series returns on August 23rd.
Speaking about the role, Michelle Gomez said: “Well of course Peter Capaldi is our next Doctor, which makes complete sense. I’m thrilled to join him. Well, you would be wouldn’t you?”
Lead writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat, added “I’ve known Michelle for years, and I’m thrilled to welcome her to Doctor Who. She’s everything we need - brilliant, Scottish, and a tiny bit satanic.”
Filming is well underway for Series 8 of Doctor Who. Guest stars confirmed to join Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in the new series, which will air on BBC America this Autumn include Frank Skinner, Ben Miller, Tom Riley, Keeley Hawes and Hermione Norris. (x)

It’s that time again to remember that we can avoid Doctor Who spoilers by installing Tumblr Savior to our browsers.
In one week the Doctor Who Christmas Special 'The Time of The Doctor' will air and all of us will be gif-making and screen-capping at rapid-fire pace.
It’s going to be a very big day, and because we will all be watching in different time zones and in different countries, we want to make sure that everyone who wants to avoid spoilers CAN avoid spoilers. Tumblr Savior allows us to do just that.
You can find Tumblr savior here, and block the tags #DW Spoilers and #The Time of The Doctor. Those are the main tags we’ll be using in our posts, and as an act of kindness to our fellow Whovians we recommend that everyone use those tags if posting about the Christmas Special.

This week’s heartbreakers.
The Doctor hangs from the TARDIS in ’The Day of The Doctor.’
We are aware that Peter Capaldi’s played a big old part in Doctor Who and Torchwood before and we are not going to ignore the fact.
I remember Russell told me that he had a big old plan as to why there were two Peter Capaldi’s in the Who universe: one in Pompeii and one in Torchwood. When I cast Peter and Russell got in touch to say how pleased he was, I said, ‘Okay, what was your theory and does it still work?” and he said, ‘Yes it does. Here it is…’
We’ll play that one out over time. It’s actually quite neat.”
The face is not set from birth. It’s not like he was always going to be one day Peter Capaldi. We know that’s the case because in The War Games he has a choice of faces. So we know it’s not set, so where does he get those faces from? They can’t just be randomly generated because they’ve got lines. They’ve aged. When he turns into Peter he’ll actually have lines on his face. So where did that face come from?

I don’t know where I am. I just know I’m running. Sometimes it’s like I’ve lived a thousand lives in a thousand places. I’m born, I live, I die. And always there’s the Doctor. Always I’m running to save the Doctor. Again and again and again. And he hardly ever hears me, but I’ve always been there. Right from the very beginning. Right from the day he started running.
