Hah ha!

This is your Saturday announcement that we will be livetumblring tonight’s 8pm ET BBC America Premiere of Doctor Who: Nightmare in Silver.

We’ll be online from 8/7c until the end of the broadcast to reblog your gifs and fan art and reactions off of the ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Nightmare in Silver’ tags on Tumblr.

For those of you who have never been to a livetumblring before, it’s where we post moments from the episode to the blog just as they’re happening on the broadcast.

And this may seem like a lot to deal with but because we’re livetumblring in real time — there is no way for us to avoid posting spoilers.

If you’re going to be liveposting be sure to tag your posts ‘spoilers’. We’ll be using the tags ‘spoilers’ ‘dw spoilers’ and ‘Nightmare in Silver’.If you can’t watch the episode until later this weekend, you can avoid spoilers by installing Tumblr Savior for your browser.

If you’re using the Tumblr mobile app or if the Tumblr Savior stuff seems alien to you, you should consider refollowing us after unfollowing us until after you watch the episode.

After the episode, stay tuned for a new episode of Orphan Black on BBC America and Space Channel at 9p EDT. Tatiana Maslany is kind of amazing in it. We’re kind of obsessed with her. So is Emma Roberts.

And at 10p on BBC America, it’s Space Week on The Nerdist so Chris Hardwick’s guests include astronaut Buzz Aldrin(!) and cute Mars Rover Mohawk guy NASA Systems Engineer Bobak Ferdowsi(!).

Meanwhile, we will be posting behind the scenes clips and production galleries of today’s show along with the prequel to next week’s season finale, The Name of The Doctor.

In the meantime, we want your autograph for our wall at the Doctor Who Tumblr office at BBC America...

Make us a fan sign, some fan art, a selfie with your Tumblr url. Post it to your blog. Submit it through this form. We’re collecting all of them through the end of next weekend and then we’re going to make a poster out of it for everyone to see whenever they come through the New York office of BBC America — Doctor Who cast, crew, writers, the BBC America staff, and us! WITH ALL OF YOUR GIFS AND ART AND COSPLAY AND EVERYTHING — YOU ARE THE STARS OF THE DOCTOR WHO TUMBLR.

So yeah. (This post feels really long today.) We’re going to go try to avoid our dashboard for the next few hours while the UK gets through their broadcast of Nightmare of Silver. Have a good day and see you at 8/7c for tonight’s all new episode of Doctor Who!

I MADE A CARTOON JUST FOR YOU, TUMBLR!

We thought we reblogged this last month but we were wrong.

And reblogging this now seems so so right.

I had to step away from the tv during this last segment of Doctor Who. Thank God for Tumblr. I think the gifs and liveblogging have me mostly caught up.

les-espirit-descalier said: for those of us who wont get to see the new episode for a couple of days yet, which tag will you be using so that i can temporarily block it (using tumblr saviour) until it screens here in new zealand?

We’ll tag our livetumblring posts ‘The Bells of Saint John’ and ‘Spoilers’. (We’ll mention it again in our livetumblring announcement later today.)

If anybody needs instructions on how to use Tumblr Savior, see THIS POST.

Alternately, you can just not use Tumblr for the next day or two.

(Yeah, right.)

Or you can unfollow the Doctor Who blog and then refollow us after you’ve seen The Bells of Saint John. (We’re 100% totally cool with this and totally understand.)

But really, you should just install Tumblr Savior because every Whovian will be blogging about the show today.

Remember that the UK broadcast starts at 6:15pm GMT (2:15pm EDT) today, and the US/Canadian broadcast starts at 8:00pm EDT so if you’re following any Whovians outside of your timezone, you’ll see their posts in your dashboard.

undilutedpoisonkisses said: For this Saturday I will be getting together in my flat with my boyfriend, best friend and her boyfriend to watch the new episode as we are all MASSIVE whovians! Rebecca is wearing her TARDIS converse and they will both be bringing their sonic screwdrivers! We are going to have a marathon and start at the beginning of Season 5 and go all the way through! I know it won't be a lot of us but us whovians stick together no matter how many of us there are! :D

That is AWESOME!

In fact, any Whovian who’s watching the Saturday premiere should post pics of your watching party no matter how big or small! If it’s just you or you and friends and family, we want to see them and reblog them because, on Tumblr, we’re all watching it together!

Christmas song parodies ->  12 days of Tumblr

Here it is, the megapost of all questions and answers from the Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman Tumblr WHO&A of 2012

image

Last week we held the first Doctor Who Tumblr ‘WHO&A’ with the cast of Doctor Who — Matt Smith and Jenna Louise Coleman. Fan submitted questions by posting them to their own blogs using the tag ‘Tumblr WHO and A’. We then spent the next 48 hours sorting through the (3600+!) questions and then sat down with Matt and Jenna for over an hour so that they could answer some of their favs.

We want to give a HUGE thanks to everyone who took part in the Q&A. This Q&A was the first of its kind and definitely not the last. Every question, every ‘like’ and every ‘reblog’ made this happen. It’s this kind of turnout that makes the cast and crew of Doctor Who want to participate in stuff like this. It also shows how we Whovians are the best fandom on Tumblr.

This here is a megapost of all 37 of their answers. To save everyone’s sanity, we put the whole thing behind a ‘Read More’.

So go ahead — click the Read More to read more:
