Ashley Walters on his Doctor Who role: you’ll see more of the Tardis than ever before | Radio Times
Ashley Walters (best known as So Solid Crew member Asher D) first earned his acting stripes as a youngster on long-running teenage soap Grange Hill, before graduating to BBC’s Hustle and last year’s Channel 4 drama Top Boy. But next year sees his most exciting role to date: a cameo in Doctor Who.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Ashley revealed he finished filming his episode - Journey to the Centre of the Tardis - two weeks ago. “You can’t beat being in Doctor Who - it’s something I’ve grown up with my whole life and working with Matt Smith was amazing. He’s a really, really good actor and just being a part of that huge BBC franchise was an incredible thing. And Jenna Louise Coleman is really good at what she does - it seems like she’s enjoying her job and I loved working with her.”
