There were so many questions for our ‘The Doctor Who Tumblr Asked For My Autograph’ Poster Project that we decided to put together a VFAQ
Doctor Who finale prequel starring Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman to screen via BBC Red Button | Radio Times
Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman will star in a special mini episode of Doctor Who – a prequel to the series seven finale – available to watch via the BBC’s interactive (UK-only) Red Button service.
Shot in a dreamlike style and set in a dusty old museum, He Said, She Said will see the Doctor and companion Clara talking directly to camera as they reflect on how little they really know about one another.
The three-minute prequel will first become available to watch following the penultimate episode of Doctor Who series seven on Saturday 11 May. Viewers will be able to access it between 7:40pm and 12 midnight by pressing the red button on their remote controls and selecting Doctor Who. They can then watch it again each evening right up until the final episode airs on Saturday 18 May on BBC1 – and the Doctor and Clara’s secrets are finally revealed…
It’s times like these I wish I lived in the UK. :/
Update: The clip will also be available outside of the UK via the BBC America YouTube channel.
We’ll post it to this blog as soon as it goes live.

During our last contest giving away our autographed poster from Doctor Who, many of you sent us messages of concern that we were giving up our favorite part of the Doctor Who Tumblr office.

That was so cool and sweet and completely unexpected.

And it got us thinking — what could we put in its place?

And that’s when we realized… we want a new set of autographs. YOUR autographs.
Make a fan sign, a new piece of fan art, a selfie with your sonic, with your TARDIS, with your friends, in cosplay, not in cosplay — whatever you want with your Tumblr url (and a short message if you’d like.)
Post it to your blog using the tag ‘the doctor who tumblr asked for my autograph’.
And just to make sure that we receive your post, you can also submit it through this form: http://bit.ly/15RHIXe
We’re going to grab the images off of this tag (one per blog) and use them to create a ginormous poster that we’ll put on our wall.
A few tips: keep your message short, use a thick marker or crayon to ensure that it shows up when printed (we think each image will be about the size of a 3x5 index card), and use good lighting so that we can see your face (a simple desk or table lamp should do.)
We anticipate being able to assemble and print this out the weekend of the Doctor Who Series 7 finale but we may push that deadline back if there’s good reason to.
We want EVERYBODY who works on the show who walks through the doors of BBC America to see how much love there is for this show and for this fandom.
And thank you!!! We can’t wait to see our new poster!!!

Find a high res version in our imgur gallery.
“Doctor Who” star Jenna Coleman has been warned. She knows that two months from now, fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego will line up in the thousands, camping overnight outside the city’s convention center to secure seats for the annual panel devoted to the BBC TV sensation. Many will wield sonic screwdrivers or wear Dalek costumes, and more than a few will come dressed as Coleman’s character, Clara.
But back in March, the hype hadn’t caught up with her.
“Everyone wants to know, ‘Has your life changed since joining the show?’” Coleman said over a lunch of baby beets and tangerine at downtown Los Angeles’ Lazy Ox Canteen. “And I’m like, ‘No, not really.’ I just go to Cardiff, and I do mad things and experience mad stuff on set, and then I come back to my London life, which suddenly seems more boring because I’ve been blasting Cybermen.”
There’s also a gallery of pics including the one above.
If you’ve seen the episode, definitely check this one out. It’s very good.

Hi there you wonderful person you!

This is your Saturday afternoon announcement that we will be livetumblring tonight’s 8pm ET BBC America Premiere of Doctor Who: The Crimson Horror.
We’ll be online from 8/7c until the end of the broadcast to reblog your gifs and fan art and reactions off of the ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘The Crimson Horror’ tags on Tumblr.

For those of you who have never been to a livetumblring before, it’s where we post moments from the episode to the blog just as they’re happening on the broadcast.

And we’re sorry, we’re so sorry but because we’re livetumblring in real time — there is no way for us to avoid posting spoilers.

If you’re going to be liveposting (or if you’ll be watching the episode in the UK) be sure to tag your posts ‘spoilers’. We’ll be using the tags ‘spoilers’ ‘dw spoilers’ and ‘The Crimson Horror’ so install Tumblr Savior if you can.
If you’re browsing your dashboard on your mobile or if you don’t understand the Tumblr Savior stuff, you can also unfollow us and then refollow us after the episode. Or whatever makes sense for you. It’s your dashboard.

After the episode, stay tuned for a new episode of Orphan Black on BBC America and Space Channel at 9p EDT. And at 10p, BBC America is airing a new episode of The Nerdist.
Meanwhile, we’ll be posting behind the scenes clips and production galleries of today’s show along with trailers for next Saturday’s all new episode of Doctor Who.

So we highly suggest that you stay put because tonight we’ll get to see the return of three of our favorite characters, Madame Vastra, Jenny, and Strax!

And we should remind you that we have a contest this weekend to win our autographed poster from Doctor Who: The Snowmen…

… this is probably our favorite thing in the Doctor Who Tumblr office and we’re giving it away… but we wanted to make sure that went to a good home so…
… to win this poster you must do something nice for someone and then post about it. Deadline is 8pm EDT tonight. See all the details here.
So get cozy and comfortable and we’ll see you at 8/7c for tonight’s all new episode of Doctor Who!

It’s signed by Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Steven Moffat, and Caro Skinner.

To win it, you need to do something nice for somebody you know
on Tumblr or in real life. (Don’t tell them what it’s for. Just do the nice thing.)
1. Post something to your blog explaining or showing what you did and how they reacted.
2. Tag it: “it’s nice to do something nice for someone”
3. Do the nice thing and post about it by Saturday, 8pm EDT.
We’ll pick a post off of this tag at random to win the poster.
This giveaway is only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States including the District of Columbia. (We tried opening this up to users beyond the US but there is no way to. Sorry.) Read all of the official terms and conditions here.
If you win and you are under 18, you will need a parent or guardian to sign for you.
Now go do something nice for somebody you know.
And good luck!

No wait — we don’t think we’re going to do it. We know we’re going to do it.
UPDATE: the contest post is live!
So we’re going to give away a big poster from The Snowmen signed by Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Steven Moffat, and Caro Skinner tomorrow, Friday.

It’s our prized possession. If we were standing in the market at the Rings of Akhaten, it would be imprinted with the memory of the day they signed it.

We’re not sure what the contest is going to be exactly, but it will probably require you to do something nice for a Whovian friend you admire. The winner will get the poster and the friend will get a prize.
We’re still working out the details.
Expect a post around noon EDT tomorrow. Don’t worry about seeing it then as it won’t close until the 8pm EDT broadcast of Doctor Who on BBC America.
Dear hiddlebear,
For some reason Tumblr won’t let us answer your question directly so we made this post instead.
With love and sincerity,

btw, if you haven’t seen the video of Matt and Karen performing the Doctor Who theme song, watch it here. If you haven’t read Matt and Jenna answering questions on Tumblr, read them here.
