Steven Moffat is returning for another Doctor Who season, the BBC officially confirmed today. The current series finale aired ahead of a 50th anniversary special slated for November 23 starring Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman, David Tennant, Billie Piper, and John Hurt. Moffat “is already plotting a brand new run of adventures for the Doctor,” the network announced on their blog. Brian Minchin will executive produce alongside Moffat.

They’re a little spoilery so we’ve hidden them beneath a “read more” break so that you can choose to see them or not.

The problem is that if you’re browsing Tumblr using the mobile app, the images won’t be hidden so in this case YOU SHOULD SCROLL PAST THIS POST REALLY REALLY FAST UNTIL YOU GET TO OUR NEXT POST THAT SAYS:
“Everything is okay you can stop scrolling now!!!!!”
Okay? Okay. Here we go.
With different footage from the “Next Time” trailer we posted yesterday.
Give it a watch.

Doctor Who finale prequel starring Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman to screen via BBC Red Button | Radio Times
Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman will star in a special mini episode of Doctor Who – a prequel to the series seven finale – available to watch via the BBC’s interactive (UK-only) Red Button service.
Shot in a dreamlike style and set in a dusty old museum, He Said, She Said will see the Doctor and companion Clara talking directly to camera as they reflect on how little they really know about one another.
The three-minute prequel will first become available to watch following the penultimate episode of Doctor Who series seven on Saturday 11 May. Viewers will be able to access it between 7:40pm and 12 midnight by pressing the red button on their remote controls and selecting Doctor Who. They can then watch it again each evening right up until the final episode airs on Saturday 18 May on BBC1 – and the Doctor and Clara’s secrets are finally revealed…
It’s times like these I wish I lived in the UK. :/
Update: The clip will also be available outside of the UK via the BBC America YouTube channel.
We’ll post it to this blog as soon as it goes live.

During our last contest giving away our autographed poster from Doctor Who, many of you sent us messages of concern that we were giving up our favorite part of the Doctor Who Tumblr office.

That was so cool and sweet and completely unexpected.

And it got us thinking — what could we put in its place?

And that’s when we realized… we want a new set of autographs. YOUR autographs.
Make a fan sign, a new piece of fan art, a selfie with your sonic, with your TARDIS, with your friends, in cosplay, not in cosplay — whatever you want with your Tumblr url (and a short message if you’d like.)
Post it to your blog using the tag ‘the doctor who tumblr asked for my autograph’.
And just to make sure that we receive your post, you can also submit it through this form: http://bit.ly/15RHIXe
We’re going to grab the images off of this tag (one per blog) and use them to create a ginormous poster that we’ll put on our wall.
A few tips: keep your message short, use a thick marker or crayon to ensure that it shows up when printed (we think each image will be about the size of a 3x5 index card), and use good lighting so that we can see your face (a simple desk or table lamp should do.)
We anticipate being able to assemble and print this out the weekend of the Doctor Who Series 7 finale but we may push that deadline back if there’s good reason to.
We want EVERYBODY who works on the show who walks through the doors of BBC America to see how much love there is for this show and for this fandom.
And thank you!!! We can’t wait to see our new poster!!!
