Karen Gillan’s Dalek impersonation
Doctor Who has been recognised with three nominations for this year’s BAFTA Cymru Film, Television and Interactive Media Awards.
The prestigious nominations came in the categories of Television Drama and Sound with the Adventure Game, Doctor Who: The Gunpowder Plot nominated in the Digital Creativity and Games section. And we’re delighted that The Sarah Jane Adventures has been nominated in the Children’s Programme category.
The winners will be announced at the BAFTA Cymru Awards on Sunday, 30 September 2012 at the Wales Millennium Centre. Good luck to all our nominees!
So be careful. The internets will be full of spoilers.
And we PROMISE you, this is one that you’ll want to know nothing about before watching it.
In this new video, Doctor Who’s head writer and Executive Producer, Steven Moffat, discusses the Daleks, talking about their weaknesses and how he wanted to make them scarier than ever in their new adventure.
For those of you who may have missed our post about this weekend’s season premiere of Doctor Who Series 7, we’ve constructed this handy dandy click-and-drag game to tell you where you should watch “Asylum of the Daleks” and when.
Click on each gif and drag it in order to find out when you’ll be watching this weekend’s premiere, who you will watch it with, what character you will cosplay as, and what you will post to Tumblr about it.
Of course, this game is not valid in all territories and if it determines that you should travel three continents just to see the premiere, we suggest taking it less as a directive and more as a modest suggestion.
Of course, if you want all of the Doctor Who Series 7 premiere info now, you could just click through to the Series 7 Premiere Date Superpost instead.
From the Doctor Who Blog:
Pond Life is the new mini-adventure featuring the Doctor, Amy, Rory and some surprise familiar faces! It picks up the story of the Ponds and follows their lives in the way that only Doctor Who can, culminating in a cliff-hanger that leads us into Asylum of the Daleks.
Directed by Saul Metzstein (Dinosaurs on Spaceship/A Town Called Mercy), the first part of Pond Life will premiere on the BBC Doctor Who site at noon (UK time) on Monday (27 August). Part 2 – 5 will be released daily at noon throughout the rest of the week and the omnibus edition will be available online and on the BBC’s Red Button on Saturday, 1 September – the day that the new series returns with Asylum of the Daleks!
Pond Life’s writer, Chris Chibnall (42, The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood) commented, ‘It opens with the Ponds at home and gives us an insight in to just what happens when the Doctor drops in and out of their lives,’ and Caroline Skinner, Executive Producer, described it as ‘beautiful, heartfelt and wickedly funny… a truly heart-warming piece about our best-loved companions and their madcap relationship with their raggedy Doctor.’
In the video above, Executive Producers Steven Moffat and Caro Skinner discuss Pond Life and you can watch Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill introducing the mini-adventure now!
