I got to make a Doctor Who cake for a Doctor Who Day Birthday! Only my 3rd cake that I got to do entirely on my own, and I was lucky enough to have a Whovian walk in.
Doctor Who themed Proposal Cake!
This week I made a cake for a really cool dude who wanted to propose to his girlfriend with it. He put the ring on her fondant figure and everything- It was so sweet. (We even have some awesome video of the whole thing! Which we’ll show you soon.)
The TARDIS is banana cake with dark chocolate crunch bits and ganache layers. The figures are of the couple themselves; He requested to be dressed as 10 but with 4’s scarf. Her clad in Donna Noble wedding gear. I wanted to go a bit cartoony with this Tardis, go in a different style than normal. Pssst it’s the 22nd TARDIS I’ve made so far. Yesss. You can actually check out their podcast site here!
I’ve always wanted to do some sort of painted background, so I painted a nebula filled with stars behind the lovely couple. I used edible food colors, using a technique of dry brushing, water push and airbrush. Sooo fun.
Probably one of my favorite cakes/delivery experience ever. The best part? The Doctor is finally Ginger.
thx, amanda!

OMG Emily made me the best #TARDIS #birthdaycake ever! #doctorwho
(Seriously, this is the best cake in all of time and space!!)
Happy birthday to me!!! ;)
My birthday isn’t until Monday, but my mom threw me my party today. She’s the one that thought of the themed cake all by herself! Sent it off to a professional, but it was all her idea. She knows me so well. :)

Uploaded with permission by the cake decorator herself!
An order came in at work last week to do a TARDIS cake for a 16th birthday. Yesterday I made it and today the customer came and picked it up. She was ecstatic, to say the least. I told her I was thrilled to have done it, being a giant Doctor Who nerd. And then she gave me a huge tip, which was totally unexpected! I hope her daughter liked it. :D
To the other dorky cake decorators, it’s a 1/4 sheet on a 1/2 board. Entirely decorated in buttercream icing except for the light at the top which is fondant, and the handles which are flexible black wires.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!! Yes, I had a TARDIS birthday cake…and yes, it had Matt Smith on it. The waiter laughed when he brought it out.
One of my co-workers made me a TARDIS cake for my birthday (since the office is closed on Friday, she brought it today). I screamed and jumped when I saw it.
