Almost every word Matt Smith utters these days makes news, and he had no lack of press coverage after the first day of his final Comic-Con as the Doctor onDoctor Who. We were there as Matt owned the stage at Entertainment Weekly’s Brave New Warriors panel, which included Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), fellow Londoner Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), David Guintoli (Grimm), and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead).

Matt Smith is giving one fan the chance to meet him for afternoon tea at The Ritz.
The Doctor Who star, who will be leaving the role in December, is offering the experience as part of an auction for two autism charities.
Bidding on the afternoon, which will be for the winner and a friend, has already begun on sellebrity.org.uk.
The website auction will be frozen at 11.10am on Monday, July 1, where all bids will be carried over to the evening event, which starts at 8pm.
Bidding on the website prior to this means that fans will be able to telephone the auctioneer’s assistant during the auction to make their final bids.
All proceeds from the evening will be split equally between two charities - Ambitious about Autism and The National Autistic Society.
Smith will be seen next in Doctor Who's 50th anniversary special before leaving the sci-fi series during the Christmas episode.
Coleman has decided to drop the Louise, meaning she will be credited as simply Jenna Coleman in all future roles, including as the Impossible Girl in Doctor Who.
The first public nod to the name change came when Coleman was introduced to the Queen as Jenna Coleman during Her Majesty’s visit to BBC Broadcasting House earlier this month.
Since then, the Louise has been conspicuously absent from press releases arriving on RadioTimes.com’s desk – including a recent announcement of her upcoming role in Pride and Prejudice sequel Death Comes to Pemberley – as well as tweets from the official Doctor Who Twitter account.
Exactly what prompted the decision to lose the Louise remains a mystery. Perhaps the actress feels Jenna Coleman is snappier, or easier to remember. Possibly it is seen as more grown-up. Or maybe it’s simply to stop her being confused with the other JLC, Justin Lee Collins.
An insider tells RadioTimes.com “There’s no big story behind it – it’s just what she’s called now. There’s been no formal announcement. She was introduced to the Queen as that andDoctor Who credits will now read Jenna Coleman, as will Death Comes to Pemberley and all of the rest.
"That’s just her, going forward…"
In case you missed it:
Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd(Compliance), former Dr. WhoChristopher Eccleston andAmanda Warren (The Closer) are set to star opposite Justin Theroux in Damon Lindelof’s HBO drama pilot The Leftovers, directed by Peter Berg. Co-written by Lindelof and Tom Perrotta based on Perrotta’s 2011 book, the project takes place after the Rapture happens but not quite like it’s supposed to. It is the story of the people who didn’t make the cut… and a world that will never be the same.
