ponygallifreyin asked: What exactly is 'red nose day' ?
You know, this is a really good question (that we usually remember to answer in our first Red Nose Day post of the year) so thanks for asking it!
It’s a fundraiser and live telethon put on by Comic Relief. via the FAQ:
Red Nose Day is a UK-wide fundraising event organised by Comic Relief every two years. On Red Nose Day everyone, including celebrities, is encouraged to cast inhibitions aside, put on a Red Nose and do something funny for money.
It culminates in a night of cutting-edge comedy and moving documentary films on BBC One. Red Nose Day unites the entire nation in trying to make a difference to the lives of countless people across Africa and the UK who are facing terrible injustice or living in desperate poverty.
Sometimes The Doctor makes an appearance in a sketch. Two of our favorites from past years have been the Eleventh Doctor, Amy, and Rory in Time Part 1 & Part 2 (2011) and David Tennant and Catherine Tate’s turn in 2007.
We should have video of their 2013 appearances up soon.
David Tennant explains his involvement with Red Nose Day 2013.
A message from David Tennant, backstage at #RND
From Monday 11th, Miranda Hart had one week to complete five frantic challenges (in five UK cities) for Red Nose Day. Matt Smith showed up at BBC Radio 2 to give her her final challenge.
The Doctor will be making a brief appearance on BBC One during this year’s Red Nose Day on Friday, 15 March.
We’ve a whole host of stars joining us on BBC One on 15th March for Comic Relief: Red Nose Day. Stay tuned for all the latest news and information about the night itself in the coming days.
Also making separate appearances: Catherine Tate and David Tennant. More info here.
‘Doctor Who’ cast takes part in four-hour extravaganza ‘Sport Relief Goes Global’ on 1 April.
Day 22: What is your favorite Who-related video on YouTube?
This will probably remain my absolute favorite video. However, I wouldn’t “like” a Who-related video on YouTube if I didn’t love it. :)

It’s just occurred to us (through comments in our ask, actually) that many of you haven’t seen the Red Nose Day special from this past Spring. So watch Part One above…
