Hello Whovians! Here’s a friendly reminder that we’ll be posting everyone’s gorgeous gifs, edits, fanart and reactions to Doctor Who episode 9 ‘Flatline’ as they happen between 9 and 10 pm ET.
What that also means is that anyone who’s not watching along with us might be susceptible to the worst Doctor Who monster of them all: SPOILERS.
If you’re on mobile or can’t install tumblr savior or x-kit, we promise we won’t mind if you unfollow us during the hour and refollow us after you’ve seen the episode.
And if you plan on watching along with us, hello! There’s only about 2 hours left, so that gives everyone enough time to make some popcorn and get the sofa ready (sofas are safe, right?) and banish everyone from the living room in preparation for 9/8c!
It’s that time of the week again- a new episode of Doctor Who and with it, a new spoiler warning!
Here at Doctor Who Tumblr we love to see what everybody’s thinking and making with the premiere of a new episode, and we just as much love to share those things with everyone else. Because of this, it might be easy to have the episode spoiled for you if you’re not watching with us right as it premieres.
Luckily we have some handy tools for enjoying all that is tumblr while still remaining unspoiled, those being tumblr savior and x-kit. Out of respect for those who can’t watch the episode with us, we tag all of our spoiler-heavy posts with #DW Spoilers and the episode title. Using tumblr savior or xkit allows you to block those tags so they don’t show up on your dash at all! (tip: with XKit you’ll have to install the “Blacklist” extension and add the word from there.)
Both of those websites linked above have detailed instructions on how to install and you can definitely ask around Tumblr if you run into any problems. Not much longer until the new episode, we’ll see everyone at 9/8c on BBC America!
This Saturday’s Doctor Who episode Flatline reveals new depths to Clara’s character, and features some of the trippiest perspective warps outside of a Holbein painting. But for the latest in his stunning retro poster series, designer Stuart Manning turned to a more recent artist.
"A Doctor Who story involving street art, set in Bristol – no inspiration necessary, so just a case of picking up on the same influences as the episode itself," he told RadioTimes.com "A Banksy-style stencil of the Doctor was just an obvious visual and it’s always nice to be able to sum a story up in a single image." HEY GUESS WHAT. We’re doing a Twitter Q&A with the writer of this week and last week’s episodes of Doctor Who, ‘Mummy On The Orient Express’ and ‘Flatline’, Jamie Mathieson.
If you missed his AMA last week, click here to read it - we highly recommend it - Jamie is a smart, funny man and he’s a DOCTOR WHO WRITER.
Happy Birthday to ‘Doctor Who' and 'An Adventure in Space and Time' writer, co-creator of 'Sherlock’, Mark Gatiss. (x)
We’re having cake!
Four, always generous with the jelly babies.
Jamie Mathieson, writer of Mummy on the Orient Express has done/is doing a reddit Q&A and lets us know where the jelly baby idea came from. I know we’re all shocked.
Would you care for a jelly baby?
jellybabiez sounds like a rap group with the doctor and his companions
dauntingtext said: Howdy! I loved the 'Don't Stop Me Now' cover from the Orient Express- do you know if there is going to be a proper recording of it that one could purchase? Or sheet music, at least?
Hello, we don’t have a link to it for sale, but here’s the full performance from Foxes’ YouTube channel.
This week, separated from the Doctor, Clara discovers a new menace from another dimension. But how do you hide when even the walls are no protection? With people to save and the Doctor trapped, Clara comes up against an enemy that exists beyond human perception.
"Possibly. Oh, who am I kidding? Probably."
Hello, Whovians! Thanks for following along with our livetumblring of the Doctor Who Series 8 episode, Mummy on the Orient Express!
We’re still tagging our ‘Mummy on the Orient Express’ posts with #DW Spoilers and #Mummy on the Orient Express so if you haven’t seen the episode yet, you can still block those tags with XKit or Tumblr Savior.
We’ll be on our dash and in the tags for a little while longer to see everyone’s reactions and post a few more to the blog, but not too much longer. Only about 66 seconds or so.
New images of The Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) from next week’s episode of Doctor Who, ‘Flatline’.
