Wait what? No they don’t.

Perfect.

Because this show is making you STRONGER!

Why doesn’t the Doctor Who Tumblr warn us multiple times a day that they’re going to be livetumblring the 8pm EDT BBC America premiere of Doctor Who? It’s a shame that they don’t give us instructions on how to avoid spoilers.
Said nobody ever at least once.

fyi: we’re prepping for tonight’s livetumblring but also trying to get to everyone’s asks and fan mail.

But our inbox is a little wobbly so here are a few key items of note:

We will be livetumblring tonight’s BBC America premiere of The Name of the Doctor. Here’s how to avoid spoilers (warn your followers!)

Have you seen the special clip of Matt Smith and David Tennant? Watch it here.

The 50th Anniversary episode premieres November 23, 2013 unless you live in a country that writes its date as ‘23 November 2013’ which probably means that you’re watching Eurovision right now…

…and aren’t reading this post. Either way, we’ll have details about the Doctor Who 50th soon.

WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!

This is it! The episode we’ve all been waiting for and our last Saturday livetumblring announcement of the season. It seems so soon and yet we’ve been through so much (and we’re only speaking of the past week!)

In less than 10 minutes, the UK will see the season finale of Doctor Who Series 7: The Name of the Doctor.
Six hours later, the US and Canada will have their debut and then Australia about 10 hours after that.
(See the full worldwide schedule here.)
We will be livetumblring tonight’s 8pm ET BBC America Premiere of The Name of the Doctor.

We’ll be online from 8/7c until the end of the broadcast reblogging your gifs and fan art and reactions as we find them on the tags ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘The Name of the Doctor.’

If you haven’t been here for a livetumblring before, it’s where we blog moments from the episode just as they’re happening on the broadcast.

And we’re sorry. We’re so sorry but because we’re livetumblring in real time — there is no way for us to avoid posting spoilers.

If you’re going to be liveposting any of these broadcasts be sure to let your followers know (and tag your posts as spoilers!)

We’ll be using the tags ‘spoilers’ ‘dw spoilers’ and ‘The Name of the Doctor’. If you can’t watch the episode until later this weekend, you can avoid spoilers by installing Tumblr Savior for your browser. Trust us: you’ll be happy you did.

If you’re using the Tumblr mobile app or if the Tumblr Savior stuff is too much to deal with, consider unfollowing us and then refollowing us after you watch the episode.

After Doctor Who, there will be a new episode of Orphan Black on BBC America and Space Channel at 9p EDT, and at 10p on BBC America, it’s a new episode of The Nerdist.
If all goes well, if all goes according to plan, we’ll have something special to post after the broadcast aside from the behind the scenes videos and storyboards and production galleries…
… and of course, we’re talking about the new clip featuring the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors!!!!!!!

In the meantime, it’s Doctor Who Day which means that we’re reblogging your Season Finale setup pics from the Doctor Who Day tag. What are you wearing? What are you eating? Who are you with? We want to know.

There’s still also time for you to get your autograph in for our wall at the Doctor Who Tumblr office at BBC America... Make us a fan sign, some fan art, a selfie with your Tumblr url. Post it to your blog. Submit it through this form. We’re collecting all of them to make a poster out of it for everyone to see whenever they come through the New York office of BBC America — Doctor Who cast, crew, writers, the BBC America staff, and us. You are special and amazing and we want people to know this.

So that’s it! Today is a big day. Message us if you have questions. In the meantime, we’re going to get going!

Hmm. Maybe we should make tomorrow another Doctor Who Day.

… with it being the Season 7 finale and all.

Last time we did Doctor Who Day we decided to do whatever we wanted. We shared Sonic Sunday pics on a Saturday, and dreamed up alt Doctor x Companion crossovers….

Looking back even further, we’ve done 30 day memes, alternate universe Doctor Who memes, scavenger hunts, Tee Tuesdays, we’ve asked you to help us eat cookies, we’ve done Whovian Wednesdays, Fan Art Fridays, we’ve even hidden contests inside of other posts

So what should we do tomorrow? More of the same? Something new?

We’re guessing that you mean this post?

Otherwise it means that we probably messed up and have no idea what we’ve done.

FYI we’re just catching up on asks from the weekend.

and our inbox is a little wobbly.

Hope to catch up tonight.

Why yes! We like hobbies! We have plenty of them. Here are some.

We feel the same about you.
We really mean it when we say that we’re really really appreciative of everyone’s participation.

Have you seen all of the submissions so far? They are fantastic.

And if you’re reading these words that means that our livetumblring of Nightmare in Silver has come to an end.

We’re going to try to get through this next bit of business without blowing up this planet (or any other planet. or spot. or whatever.) We have a bunch of really important clips to share with you including both a Behind the Scenes and Doctor Who Insider on Nightmare in Silver, the promo trailer for next week’s episode The Name of The Doctor, along with its prequel.

We also have a bunch of production artwork and storyboards to share — they’re especially cool this week.

We’ll be browsing Doctor Who related tags for more of your reactions to tonight’s episode so if you have more to share, please do. We’ll be reblogging throughout the rest of the weekend (with spoiler tags still in effect.)

We should probably remind you again about the “The Doctor Who Tumblr Asked For My Autograph” poster project — we’d love to have you take part so find instructions at this link.

Stick around for Orphan Black (in progress) if you’re watching BBC America or Space Channel and see you in the dashboard!

Allons-y!

We get asked this question a lot and we always answer it privately but today we thought we’d make this one public. The reason why we don’t do international giveaways isn’t because we don’t want to but because we’re not allowed to.Personal Tumblrs do international giveaways all the time.  That’s because they’re, well, personal. They can do whatever they want (including not following through on their promise of giving something away) and they will most likely not get into legal trouble for doing so.The Doctor Who Tumblr is an official blog which means that we’re bound to the rules of the BBC. In turn, the BBC is bound to the laws of the territories that it operates in.  As a result, coming up with a set of rules for contests and giveaways that doesn’t fall foul of the laws and regulations of every single participating country can be near impossible. That is why we spend more time doing things like Sonic Sunday, Fan Art Friday, 30 Days of DW memes, and the current Poster Project. These are things that anyone and everyone can participate in because it doesn’t involve “prizes.” And to be honest, we prefer doing these things anyway because they involve and honor Whovians from around the world and that’s a lot more fun.But this doesn’t mean that we’re not going to try to do a multi-country giveaway. The folks behind the Doctor Who Facebook Page, BBC America, Anglophenia, and this blog have all gotten together to try to solve this problem. While it won’t be tomorrow, please know that we know why international giveaways would be cool and that we we’re actively trying to make this a reality.

We’ll be online from 8/7c until the end of the broadcast to reblog your gifs and fan art and reactions off of the ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Nightmare in Silver’ tags on Tumblr.

For those of you who have never been to a livetumblring before, it’s where we post moments from the episode to the blog just as they’re happening on the broadcast.

And this may seem like a lot to deal with but because we’re livetumblring in real time — there is no way for us to avoid posting spoilers.

After the episode, stay tuned for a new episode of Orphan Black on BBC America and Space Channel at 9p EDT. Tatiana Maslany is kind of amazing in it. We’re kind of obsessed with her. So is Emma Roberts.

And at 10p on BBC America, it’s Space Week on The Nerdist so Chris Hardwick’s guests include astronaut Buzz Aldrin(!) and cute Mars Rover Mohawk guy NASA Systems Engineer Bobak Ferdowsi(!).

Meanwhile, we will be posting behind the scenes clips and production galleries of today’s show along with the prequel to next week’s season finale, The Name of The Doctor.

In the meantime, we want your autograph for our wall at the Doctor Who Tumblr office at BBC America...

Make us a fan sign, some fan art, a selfie with your Tumblr url. Post it to your blog. Submit it through this form.
