New Doctor Who action figures and toys revealed

via Den of Geek:

The firm, who has been making Doctor Who action figures and toys since the show burst back onto our screens all those years ago, has just announced its latest range of products. So we thought we’d tell you about them. Well, more to the point, show you.

There are two new playsets. One is Cold War Time Zone, and the other is Dalek Invasion Time Zone. The two work independently, but can also click together, should you so wish.

There’s the new range of action figures. These are now 3.75” in height, and the first releases at that size are the Doctor, Clara, an Asylum Of The Daleks Dalek, a Nightmare In Silver Cyberman, an Ice Warrior, a Weeping Angel, and Matt Smith’s Doctor.

All available via the BBC Shop.

Cybermen, Skaldak and Mr Sweet: Series 7 props at the Doctor Who Experience

Even though Series 7 has reached its dramatic conclusion, you can still relive the excitement at the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, which has recently had a monster invasion!

Grand Marshal Skaldak, the mighty Ice Warrior from Cold War, stands chained to the Russian missile (or is that just his empty armour…?), alongside a tableau from Nightmare in Silver, featuring a new Cyberman, the Chess Automaton game and Warwick Davis’ Porridge costume. You can also see the grotesque Mr Sweet, poking out from Mrs Gillyflower’s beautiful Victorian dress, and the “infernal machine”, which she used to control her rocket.

They join other recent exhibits from the first part of Series 7, which include the Great Intelligence’s snow-globe, the Weeping Angel cherubs, and Oswin’s red dress, complete with soufflé whisk.

Mark Gatiss does go on. He’s been on at me about the Ice Warriors since I took over the show. And, frankly, I’ve been disappointing him. I just wasn’t that thrilled about unearthing yet another old monster. I slightly felt we’d done all the good ones. But then, as I was sitting in my garden on the phone to Mark about Sherlock, he started pitching this story. An Ice Warrior! On a nuclear submarine! Under the polar ice cap. That would have been enough for me to say, “yes, please!” but then he had one more idea that made my hair stand on end.

It’s not for me to tell you what your favourite episodes will be, but this is one of mine.
