Fellow Whovians! I am HONORED to be curating the Doctor Who Tumblr this weekend not only so that I can blab ceaselessly about my BBCA special “The Nerdist”—based on my podcast with Matt Mira & Jonah Ray—but also because hunting down Who-mobilia of any kind is what I do in my free time. This weekend I will share with you personal Doctor Who related items as well as stuff I just thought was nifty on the Webs. I hope you find me worthy to dabble in such a weighty undertaking.
If it’s any help, I’ve managed to hang out with two Doctors and two and a half companions—Peter Davison, Matt Smith, Janet Fielding, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill—but was unable to purchase them. I have therefore trapped their souls in digital imagery. Were I to have a TARDIS, I would selfishly hop through time taking pictures with the other ten. THAT’S RIGHT! I would go forward and meet 12 as well.

“The Nerdist” TV show airs Saturday, September 24th at 10p ET right after Doctor Who, but the curation of the Tumblr starts THIS SECOND. I <3 U!!!
It’s fitting that Hardwick’s Nerdist TV special – with guests Matt Smith and fellow Who enthusiast Craig Ferguson – will premiere after Doctor Who on BBC America this Saturday. His Who love certainly deserves its own TV platform, and it deserves its own post. We’ve compiled a few of his greatest Whovian moments:
1. Chris Hardwick Dons a Fourth Doctor Scarf on Craig Ferguson
If you’re on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and your fellow guest is Matt Smith, it’s like church, you must dress for the occasion. This time, Hardwick nodded to classic Who, wearing Tom Baker‘s epic stripey scarf (knitted by @TARDISTara) and a T-shirt emblazoned with a Delorean crashing into a TARDIS. (By the way, do Hardwick and Ferguson have great nerd chemistry or what? You’ll see more of that on Saturday’s Nerdist special.)
Chris Hardwick will be on BBC America on Saturday night, September 24th, at 10/9c with the Nerdist TV special. The guests will be Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith and The Late Late Show‘s Craig Ferguson.
Over on Anglophenia, they have pics of Chris dressed as Ten with Five and Tegan (see above), THAT Comic-Con podcast, and the video exchange with Karen and the Babes. Right this way…
And! And! Chris is ours (okay, okay, he’s yours, but also ours, let’s be sharing friends) tomorrow and Friday as he curates This. Tumblr.
If he thought the Thousand Person Orchestra of Whovians singing with him to Karen and the Babes was something, well, he’s about to meet all of YOOOUUUUUUUU.
I hope one day I can thank this man for everything that he (and his podcast) has introduced me to. My love for Doctor Who, Doug Benson, Scott Sigler, Wil Wheaton, Tom Lennon and me finding my love for comedy again among many many many other things/people are completely his fault!
Thanks Chris!
Just in case Chris is too humble to reblog thank yous written to him when he curates the Doctor Who Tumblr Friday and Saturday (#fangirlsquee!) we thought we’d leave this here for him to see.

We’ve had a lot of nerdy things going on here at Anglophenia lately. Well, that’s because Chris Hardwick‘s The Nerdist special is coming to BBC America on Saturday, September 24th at 10/9c. Doctor Who star Matt Smith is a guest. And in celebration of that and all things Who-related, we thought we’d go by the way of Trock Rock a.k.a. “Time Lord Rock.” For those who aren’t in the know, the Doctor Who Tumblr has a nice explanation of what it is — “music based on, and written about, the TV series Doctor Who.”
But it is Nerdist Week after all, so why not, right? So here’s our little tribute… are you ready to trock?

Immediately following the premiere of an all new episode of Doctor Who: Closing Time at 9/8c.
Recorded live in front of 800 Nerds at San Diego Comic-con on 7/23, this awesometastic mashup of television space travelers yields some of our best podcast moments. Talk of leeches, Steven Moffat Muppets, Karen’s love of Lt. Commander Data and how The Doctor and Wesley Crusher pilot their respective ships–namely the TARDIS and the Enterprise (1701-D, of course). THIS. EPISODE. RULES.
SIDENOTE: Thanks to BBC America who sponsored the event by allowing the attendees to “enjoy their burritos” which Matt and Karen helped hand out in TARDIS sleeves. Genius!
