FYI: we’ve made the contest into an email sweepstakes to make this as simple and fair as possible. The entry period is 24 hours so that there’s no having to pay attention to Twitter or YouTube or Kik or whatever at a particular time or anything.
This will give us time to make sure that everyone has at least 24 hours notice before the giveaways begin, that you know exactly what time each giveaway will start, that you know what to expect, and that all of the contests on all BBC America platforms are clear and understandable.
Thank you for your patience on this.
Doctor Who fans please always know, we hear you. There has been an overwhelming response for the Doctor Who premiere screening today. We booked the biggest movie theater available in NYC, one that typically hosts blockbuster movie premieres. We wish that, like the TARDIS, it was bigger on the inside.
Thanks as always for your support.
This is the part where we say that the response was overwhelming (which is true) and how we’re looking forward to bringing you this exclusive Doctor Who event August 25th at the famed Ziegfeld Theater in New York City (also true.)
Movietickets.com experienced a hiccup (understatement) but stayed up long enough to sell 800+ tickets to the show.
We’ll have more news about the screening in the coming days so stay tuned.
(including ways to win tickets to the screening.)
UPDATE: YOU SHOT THE TARDIS!!! Use this new link.
UPDATE: Tickets are SOLD OUT!

We’ve been working all day to get everything ready for the sale. We can’t give you an exact time (like we said, we’re still working) but we suggest checking with the @BBCAmerica Twitter account in about an hour (after 1pm.)
The good news is that it’s a big venue so there will be well over 750 tickets available for purchase.
But you’ll still have to act fast.

This was a year ago today. I met the cast of Doctor Who for a second time at Barnes and Noble, had them sign my fez <3 and found out Matt and Karen fondly remember my younger brother and his cheesey~ questions from 2010.
Perfect cast is perfect.

BONUS EPISODE for the Whovians! This is the 40-minute Q&A following sneak preview screening of the first two episodes of Doctor Who series 6 to a packed movie theater of Who fans in NY on April 11, 2011.
