Rubbertoe Replicas - Behind the Scenes - Doctor Who

A short journey from Doctor Who’s studios in Cardiff, is the town of Barry — home not only to Stacey from Gavin & Stacey, but also Rubbertoe Replicas, producers of collectible replica props from Doctor Who.

The Doctor Who team went to visit their workshop, and chatted to designer and craftsman Nick Robatto, who showed us a few tricks of the trade.

Here’s a cool Friday fact - did you know that fake UK banknotes for TV must conform to strict Bank of England guidelines, so for the 2006 Christmas Special (The Runaway Bride) the Doctor Who production team made their own “10 Satsumas” notes featuring the Tenth Doctor! And here’s what they looked like (there’s also one on display in the British Museum in London if you happen to pop in)
