The TARDIS and Clara have a relationship. Actually I don’t think we’ve talked about this in interviews before. It’s something that’s running through the series.
Instead of it being like, “Does so-and-so like Clara?” The TARDIS and Clara have a bit of a face-off. So, the Doctor is obviously bringing back somebody new. I think we’ve done a whole additional content scene of me talking to the TARDIS, and the TARDIS is making fun of Clara. They kind of have an argument. They’ve got a relationship individual to the Doctor where they have a dialogue.
Listen up, kiddies.
You see this? This is the current standings of TV Guide Magazine’s Fan Favorite Awards.
Notice how Doctor Who is #2?
Notice how that makes it not #1?
I don’t know about you lot, but I see that as a problem.
Remember this poll?
Well you did it, Whovians! You got Doctor Who on the cover of not one but two major U.S. magazines this year!
As revealed this morning by our friends at Good Morning America, the winner of our 2012 Fan Favorites cover poll is… BBC America’s Doctor Who! Congratulations to the show and to all the fans who voted! The issue goes on sale later this week.
Issue hits stores later this week.
There are two fandom related things going on right now: the TV Guide “Fan Favorites” contest to determine which show gets on the cover of their magazine. and the People’s Choice Nominee for Favorite TV Fan Following.
You don’t know how excited we are for these two things as they’re not just about the show but they’re also about this fandom. PEOPLE MUST KNOW THE POWER OF THIS FANDOM.
We’ve actually traveled across all of the BBC, from the studios on the other side of the building to the cafeteria just around the corner. And everywhere we went we saw BBC employees and asked them to vote for you. But if the Doctor Who Tumblr became a legend, then that’s wrong because our blog isn’t important. There’s something else — the fandom that compelled us to go out there. The fandom that made us walk 500 miles. That fandom’s name is the Whovians. And they continue to reblog stuff about the show so many times, and remind everyone on Tumblr that they’re there. The fandom never stops. The fandom is kind of all over the place (especially with their AU memes). The fandom never asks to be thanked. But we’ve seen the fandom. We know the fandom. We love the fandom. And we know what they can do.
No hold on…
Sorry, that’s Martha’s speech from ‘Last of the Time Lords’ — but you know what you need to do! Go vote for all the things!!!
You know that wonderful feeling you get when Doctor Who shows up in American mainstream media?
MAKE IT HAPPEN AGAIN.
GO GO GO GO
Are you ready to land the TARDIS on TV Guide (#LandTARDISonTVGuide)? Doctor Who is nominated in TV Guide’s Fan Favorites Cover Poll, and you can help make some history by voting regularly.
With the upcoming Christmas special, we’re ushering in a new era of Who with a brand-new inhabitant to the TARDIS. If Doctor Who does take its rightful place in time and space on TV Guide’s cover, what questions would you ask of stars Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman (a.k.a. the Doctor’s new companion)?
TV Guide is conducting a ‘fan favorites’ poll to determine who ends up on the cover of their “fan favorites” issue. We got on the cover of Entertainment Weekly earlier this year. Let’s try to go 2 for 2!

Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith appeared to be every bit the rock star as he graced the stage for TV Guide Magazine’s Fan Favorites panel.
The panel’s roster included stars like Community‘s Joel McHale, Castle‘s Nathan Fillion, Nikita‘s Maggie Q, Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Posey, Spartacus‘ Liam McIntyre, Fringe‘s Jasika Nicole, Grimm‘s David Biuntoli, and The Walking Dead‘s Sarah Wayne Callies.
But all eyes were on Matt as the audience took to the podium to ask questions. And we mean that literally every fan question was directed at Matt. (If we downed a shot for every time the words “This question is for Matt Smith” were said during today’s TV Guide Fan Favorites panel, we’d wouldn’t be posting right now. We’d be hospitalized.)
This is a great writeup. Go read it over at Anglophenia
